#TaxMarch Protesters Ask Trump ‘What Are You Hiding?'; Demand Release of His Taxes

In a sequel to the Women’s March in January, anti-Trump crowds are gathering worldwide to air their grievances with the White House

The demand for the release of President Trump’s tax returns took to the streets across America, as scores turned out with pickets in hand for #TaxMarch, on Saturday, April 15, the customary deadline for submitting taxes.

The gesture of transparency that every president since Gerald Ford has performed shortly after taking office had protestors insisting Trump prove he’s not hiding anything by releasing the records.

Along with the main march in Washington, other marches are taking place in major cities including Seattle, Chicago, and Los Angeles. A march near Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort in South Florida, where Trump is spending his seventh weekend since becoming president.

Speakers at the D.C. March include Los Angeles Democratic Congresswoman Maxine Waters, who has become one of Trump’s most outspoken critics in the House of Representatives.

In Los Angeles, thousands of protesters marched from Pershing Square to City Hall yelling chants including “Hey hey! Ho ho! Donald Trump has got to go!” and “Show your taxes!”

“Throughout his campaign, Donald Trump told the American people he would release his tax returns. Despite intense public pressure, President Trump has not yet done so – breaking with 40 years of precedent in the process,” said a statement on the Tax March website. “His administration’s excuse? ‘People don’t care.’ We do care. Without seeing his tax returns, we have no idea what he’s hiding.”
