MTV VMA Nominees: Taylor Swift, Ed Sheeran, Beyonce Lead the Pack

Show hosted by Miley Cyrus airs live on Aug. 30

Taylor Swift, Ed Sheeran, Beyonce lead the nominations for the 2015 MTV Video Music Awards, which were announced on Tuesday via Beats 1 “Chart” show on Apple Music.

Kendrick Lamar, Nick Jonas, Nicki Minaj and Rihanna are also among the musical stars who are nominated for the show that airs live from the Microsoft Theater (formerly Nokia Theatre L.A. LIVE) in Los Angeles on Sunday, August 30 at 9 p.m. ET/PT.

Miley Cyrus has been  named as host of this year’s show MTV Video Music Awards, and the controversial singer shared the news on Twitter Monday. “MTV won’t let me perform, so I’m hosting this year’s VMAs,” the “Wrecking Ball” singer tweeted.

Beginning Tuesday, fans can vote for their favorites artists in VMA categories including “Video of The Year,” “Best Male Video” and “Best Female Video” on vma.mtv.com. Votes for the “MTV Artist To Watch” award will remain live through the 2015 “MTV Video Music Awards” Pre-Show airing at 8 p.m. ET/PT. At that time, the top two artists will be revealed, kicking off a live hashtag vote with the winner being announced during the live main telecast. Nominees for the socially voted category, “Best Song of Summer,” will be announced at a later date.
