Teen Stars Line Up for Bullying Film ‘Contest’

Disney Channel and MTV actors like Kenton Duty, Katherine McNamara and Dan Flaherty will star in Ajay Giunta's upcoming film

Kenton Duty, Katherine McNamara and Dan Flaherty will star in “Contest,” Percolate Productions’ upcoming film about bullying.

Ajay Giunta is directing the film, which he also wrote. Shooting is underway in new York and Giunta has cast a series of up-and-coming stars with more experienced Hollywood actors.

The 17-year-old Duty had a recurring role on the final season of “Lost” and is a co-star of the Disney Channel’s “Shake It Up!” McNamara will star next year in a film about Tom Sawyer and was cast in the"High School Musical" spinoff “Madison High.” Flaherty was on MTV’s “Skins.”

Other “Contest” castmembers include Kyle Dean Massey (“Sex in the City 2”), Mary Beth Peil (“The Good Wife”), Chris Riggi (“Gossip Girl”), Owen Teague (“Malibu County”) and Raviv Ullman (“Phil of the Future”).

Set in a small-town high school, “Contest” chronicles a bully and his favorite target, who forge an unlikely friendship as partners in a cooking contest.

Howard T. Alter is producing and Martin Katz is a co-producer.
