Fans of the original “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” animated series might be tempted to buy a ticket for their latest live-action adventure since some classic villains and heroes are coming to the big screen, too.
The first full trailer for Paramount and Nickelodeon’s “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows” unveils mutant henchman Bebop and Rocksteady in all their CGI glory. Fans who weren’t please with the last movie, which still grossed over $493 million in 2014, should at least be satisfied with the characters’ familiar appearances.
Casey Jones, played by “Arrow” star Stephen Amell, also jumps in to save April O’Neil (Megan Fox) when she’s surrounded by masked members of the Foot Clan.
The “TMNT” sequel appears to be full of more explosions, turtle banter and heroes in a half shell’s sweet new ride, that fans of the animated series will recognize as the tricked-out Turtle Van. The movie directed by Dave Green (“Earth to Echo”) hits theaters on June 3.
