Sarah Connor will meet her grown-up son, John, in “Terminator Genisys.” And then he’ll try to kill her.
A new trailer that Paramount Pictures released on Monday teases a scene in which John (Jason Clarke, “Dawn of the Planet of the Apes”) shows up as a cyborg, and tries to terminate Sarah (Emilia Clarke, “Game of Thrones”).
Fortunately, the terminator we all know and love (Arnold Schwarzenegger) is still hanging around to make sure she doesn’t fall for Skynet’s tricks.
The company behind Judgement Day seems to have topped itself this time around, though, since it appears to turn John not only against his mother, but all of humanity.
“I’m not machine. I’m not man. I’m more,” he says before effortlessly tossing Schwarzenegger out of his way.
Speaking of Schwarzenegger, fans of the franchise will also be treated to a fight scene between his current 67-year-old self, and the body audiences met in James Cameron‘s first “Terminator” movie.
“Terminator Genisys,” which follows a whole new timeline as Kyle Reese (Jai Courtney) travels back in time to save Sarah, hits theaters on July 1.
