‘The Punisher’ Finally Gets Release Date and New Trailer (Video)

The truth must be taken

Frank Castle (John Bernthal) is back on Netflix Nov. 17 in “Marvel’s The Punisher,” the latest street hero series to hit the streaming service.

Netflix has kept the release date under wraps since the first teaser trailer for the stand alone series that focuses on a character audiences first met in “Daredevil” Season 2.

In the new trailer, we learn a little more about Castle’s past in the military, and finally watch him emerge wearing the Punisher suit. He’s out for the truth about what happened to him and his family, and he’s not afraid to kill people along the way. It turns out that those who hurt his family are part of a much larger conspiracy that runs deeper than New York City’s criminal underworld.

We also get to see characters from “Daredevil,” like Karen Page (Deborah Ann Woll) in a cast that includes Ebon Moss-Bachrach (“Girls,” “The Lake House”), Ben Barnes (“Westworld,” “The Chronicles of Narnia”), Amber Rose Revah (“Emerald City,” “Indian Summers”), Michael Nathanson (“The Knick,” “Wolf of Wall Street”), Jaime Ray Newman (“Bates Motel”), Jason R Moore (“A Lonely Place for Dying”), Daniel Webber (“11.22.63″) and Paul Schulze (“Nurse Jackie”).

The series is executive produced by showrunner Steve Lightfoot (“Hannibal”), Jim Chory (“Marvel’s Daredevil,” “Marvel’s Jessica Jones,” “Marvel’s Luke Cage”) and Marvel’s Head of Television Jeph Loeb (“Marvel’s Daredevil,” “Marvel’s Jessica Jones,” “Marvel’s Luke Cage).
