“The View” host Ana Navarro has a new book recommendation for Georgia Senate candidate Herschel Walker: “Ejaculate Responsibly” by Gabrielle Blair. On Friday, Navarro suggested that Walker be sent many, many copies.
Navarro’s comment came as the hosts were discussing birth control and abortion rights at large, beginning with the core argument of Blair’s new book.
In an interview with NPR, the author explained that the book is “called that because I’m trying to shift the conversation about abortion away from controlling women’s bodies and legislating women’s bodies, and instead focus on the fact that men are not held accountable for causing unwanted pregnancies.”
According to the women of “The View,” men definitely should be tasked with thinking more consciously about the potential effects of their sexual encounters. Ana Navarro had a few suggestions on who should read Blair’s book.
“Well listen, if there’s a book called ‘Ejaculate Responsibly,’ I want to send 100 copies to Herschel Walker,” Navarro sniped.
This isn’t the first piece of advice Navarro has offered Walker on the show. In the immediate aftermath of the Senate candidate’s abortion scandal — in which The Daily Beast reported that Walker, who has been vocally anti-abortion, paid for a girlfriend’s abortion in 2009 — the host mocked Walker for slipping up in his form of payment to the woman.
“Yeah, next time you might want to hide something, you might want to pay cash, buddy,” she mocked.
Speaking more seriously during Friday’s discussion, Navarro argued that, for short term solutions, women need to be sure to get out and vote during the midterm elections. For longterm solutions, the host said women need to teach their sons about exercising caution.
That said, Navarro also suggested letting author Gabrielle Blair speak directly to Congress, “’cause I really think a lot of these old white men have no idea how a female reproductive system works.”
