(Spoiler alert: Do not keep reading if you have not watched this week’s episode of “The Walking Dead”)

In this week’s episode of “The Walking Dead,” two groups of major characters take dangerous trips outside the walls of Alexandria.

As we saw at the end of last week’s episode, Carol (Melissa McBride) has decided to leave Alexandria as she is conflicted about all the humans she has killed since the apocalypse began.

Out on the road, she encounters a truck with five Saviors who shoot out her tires. She plays things cool and tells them she is a drifter, but they suspect that she is really from Alexandria. Before they can force her to take them there, however, Carol guns them all down with a rifle she had concealed in her jacket.

Back at Alexandria, Daryl (Norman Reedus) is still feeling pangs of guilt over the death of Denise (Merritt Wever). He heads out on his own to find Dwight (Austin Amelio), the Savior Daryl previously spared who went on to kill Denise.

Fearing what could happen to Daryl on his own, Glenn (Steven Yeun), Michonne (Danai Gurira) and Rosita (Christian Serratos) set out after him.

Rick (Andrew Lincoln) is angry at them for leaving, but he eventually leaves himself when he finds out that Carol has gone. Morgan (Lennie James) tags along to help.

Rick and Morgan find Carol’s car and the dead Saviors. They start tracking a blood trail, thinking it is Carol’s. But one Savior managed to survive the onslaught and starts tracking them.

The search for Carol proves fruitless, as the blood was from a walker. The pair then encounter a man fighting off a large group of walkers. Rick tries to shoot the man to stop him from running but Morgan intervenes and the man escapes.

Morgan then confesses to Rick that he hid an injured Wolf inside Alexandria and that Carol found out. He also says that the Wolf saved Denise, who in turn was able to save Carl when he got shot. Rick is furious but doesn’t know what to do. Morgan then volunteers to continue the hunt for Carol alone.

Back at Alexandria, Maggie (Lauren Cohan) gets a haircut from Enid (Katelyn Nacon). Suddenly, Maggie begins feeling intense pain, most likely connected to her pregnancy.

Glenn, Michonne and Rosita catch up to Daryl. Rather than turn back, however, Rosita agrees to help him hunt down Dwight.

As Glenn and Michonne head back, though, they get ambushed by Dwight and his men. They are tied up and left helpless as the Saviors build a fire.

Daryl and Rosita return and prepare to try to free their captured comrades, only for Dwight to appear behind Daryl and put a gun to his head. The episode ends with the sound of a gunshot and blood splashing across the screen, with Dwight saying to Daryl, “You’ll be OK.”

As it now stands, that leaves four members of the group in the Saviors’ clutches for sure, with Carol and Morgan’s fates uncertain.

And as a leaked trailer showed on Friday, Negan is going to make his big entrance in the finale. The leader of the Saviors notoriously killed a major character in the comics, but speculation has run rampant on who it could be on the series.

The Season 6 finale of “The Walking Dead” will air April 3 at 9/8c on AMC.
