Tom Hanks will make his Broadway debut in a new play by the late Nora Ephron.
"Lucky Guy," directed by George C. Wolfe, will play a limited engagement at the Broadhurst Theatre, with previews beginning March 1, 2013 and the opening set for April 1.
The play from Ephron, who died in June at 71, dramatizes the story of Pulitzer Prize-winning New York Daily News columnist Mike McAlary's sensational coverage of New York's police corruption to a libel suit that nearly ended his career to his coverage of the Abner Louima beating case, before his untimely death on Christmas Day, 1998.

Two-time Oscar winner Hanks appeared in Ephron's films "Sleepless in Seattle" and "You've Got Mail." His latest film, "Cloud Atlas," opens Oct. 26.
Ephron's work was last seen on Broadway in 2002, in her play with music, "Imaginary Friends," starring Cherry Jones and Swoosie Kurtz. "Love, Loss and What I Wore," which she co-wrote with her sister, Delia Ephron, based on Ilene Beckerman's 1995 book of the same name, played off-Broadway and in regional theaters, featuring a rotating cast of actresses reading monologues about relationships, shopping and a combination of the two.
