Kathryn Hahn has been cast as the female lead in Jill Soloway‘s upcoming Amazon pilot “I Love Dick,” TheWrap has learned.
The series is based on the 1997 novel by Chris Kraus. Set in the small town of Marfa, Texas, the series follows a husband and wife, Chris (Hahn), in a failing marriage who discover they are obsessed with the same man, a professor named Dick.
Through that obsession, Chris goes on a journey of self-discovery. Told in “Rashomon”-style shifts of POV, I Love Dick charts the unraveling of a marriage, the awakening of an artist and the reluctant deification of a man named Dick.
Hahn currently plays Rabbi Raquel Fein on Soloway’s Emmy winning Amazon series “Transparent.” She is also known for playing Jen Barkley on “Parks and Recreation.” She is represented by Gersh, Lighthouse Management and attorney James Adams.
Soloway is executive producing the series with Andrea Sperling under their Topple Productions banner and their overall deal with Amazon Studios. Sarah Gubbins will write the pilot, in addition to co-executive producing.
