“The Daily Show” host Trevor Noah ripped Newt Gingrich on Wednesday over his recent comments suggesting that Fox News host Megyn Kelly is obsessed with sex, saying, “This is the same dude who cheated on two different wives.”
Noah noted that just because Kelly often interviews people who “look like swollen testicles” does not mean she is obsessed with sex.
“Newt Gingrich should not be complaining that anyone is fascinated with sex,” Noah said. “When he was asked about his cheating … he gave the best answer I have ever heard in my life.”
Noah then played a video of Gingrich saying he essentially cheated on his wives because he loves America.
Gingrich and Kelly got into a heated exchange on Tuesday night’s episode of Fox News’ “The Kelly File.” The spat was remarkable even by this election cycle’s standards. When Kelly began to speculate what it might mean if Trump is a “sexual predator” following allegations that he groped and harassed women over the years, Gingrich interrupted: “I’m sick and tired of people like you using language that’s inflammatory — that’s not true.”
He added: “You are fascinated with sex and you don’t care about public policy.”
Kelly objected to Gingrich’s characterizations and ended the interview a short time later. “You can take your anger issues and spend some time working on them, Mr. Speaker,” she said. “Thanks for being here.”
