Donald Trump Heckled by Protesters in New York City: ‘Lock Him Up’ (Video)

President Trump gets a chilly welcome in New York City on Saturday — one day after news broke that Michael Flynn would cooperate with the Special Counsel

Trump Protest

President Trump was heckled by protesters upon his arrival in New York City on Saturday. The Commander-in-chief was in town for a GOP fundraiser at the ritzy midtown restaurant Cipriani.

“Lock him up,” screamed protesters as Trump rolled into his old stomping grounds. There were also cries of “shame on you” and “traitor.”

Footage of the event was captured by Justin Hendrix, Executive Director of NYC Media Lab.

“People are rightly angry at this President, who has revealed himself as racist, unfit and uninterested in appealing to anyone other than his dwindling base,” Hendrix told TheWrap.

The “lock him up” line is no doubt an allusion to the 2016 chant “lock her up” often directed by Trump and his surrogates toward his Democratic presidential rival Hillary Clinton.

Trump promised that if he became president, he would imprison Clinton for a number of alleged crimes — something he notably backpedaled on after his election.

It’s unclear if the NYC protesters were demanding Trump’s incarceration or that of his former National Security Adviser Flynn, who famously led a “lock her up” chant at the Republican National Convention last year.

Flynn has since pleaded guilty to charges of lying to the FBI and may very-well find himself behind bars in the coming months.
