Trump Called Out on Twitter Over Climate Change After Tagging Wrong Ivanka

“You’re a man with great responsibilities. May I suggest more care on Twitter and more time learning about #climatechange,” the real @Ivanka replies

Donald Trump will be handed the keys to the White House on Friday, but the president-elect has yet to learn how to handle his own Twitter account properly.

Trump delights in communicating with the public through his social media account, but when he attempted to praise his daughter Ivanka on Monday, he accidentally sent the message to a British digital consultant.

“@Ivanka Trump is great, a woman with real character and class,” the message read, replying to Massachusetts chiropractor Lawrence Goodstein, who had mistakenly tagged @realDonaldTrump and @Ivanka in a prior tweet.

The handle @Ivanka is actually owned by Ivanka Majic of Brighton, England, while the future first daughter goes by the handle @IvankaTrump.

Majic didn’t miss this opportunity to rip into Trump in a reply that was shared with his 20 million followers, writing: “And you’re a man with great responsibilities. May I suggest more care on Twitter and more time learning about #climatechange.”

Unfortunately for Trump, he singled out someone who actually knows what she’s talking and Majic went on to tweet data pointing out that 97.5 percent of publishing climatologists and about 90 percent of all publishing scientists supported the human-induced climate change theory, The Guardian reported.

“The interesting thing about my being dragged into a Twitter conversation with Trump is that my politics are very different than his,” Majic told CNN, referencing Trump’s repeated claims that climate change is a hoax.

“It’s not every morning, well it’s never really, that I wake up and find that lots of international news agencies want to talk to me,” she continued. “I had many, many mentions. I normally try to reply politely, but I’m not going to be able to get back to everyone today.”

“I’ve got my 15 minutes of fame and this is how I’m choosing to use it,” Majic told The Guardian.

Included in that 15 minutes is doubling her Twitter followers, currently totally 7,544.
