Trump Supporter Upset After Being Mocked on ‘SNL’: ‘Tears Have Been Shed’ (Video)

Scottie Nell Hughes admits to being “a little shaken” after being portrayed by Cecily Strong

Donald Trump supporter Scottie Nell Hughes was upset after being parodied by Cecily Strong on “Saturday Night Live,” calling the sketch “the ultimate sexism.” Hughes is a frequent cable news guest and “SNL” parodied the situation with Kate McKinnon playing CNN’s Kate Bolduan. “Tears have been shed,” Hughes said.

“As a woman I like Donald Trump, but as a full-blown nut job I freaking love him,” the fake Hughes said in the sketch. The real Hughes wasn’t happy.

“Talk about the ultimate shaming, the ultimate sexism,” she said on CNN. “You know, what does ‘SNL’ want me to do, be barefoot and pregnant or maybe just talk about parenting issues?”

Despite being clearly annoyed, Hughes told CNN she has a “great sense of humor” and that it’s an “honor” to be portrayed by Strong. After her appearance on CNN, Hughes spoke with TheBlaze and was more candid.

“You’ve never known ‘SNL’ to parody any conservative in a positive way — either male or female,” Hughes said. “I don’t get paid to be positive about Mr. Trump. I’ve never been paid by him.”

The political activist said she is “a little shaken after this” and that she “had no idea this was coming.”

“Those who know me know that I’m actually a very insecure person. I read every tweet,” Hughes said. “Tears have been shed.”
