Tucker Carlson Cuts Short Grilling of Anti-NRA, Ex-Cop Candidate: ‘Interview Over!’ (Video)

“People are laughing at you because you are ignorant,” says Fox News host in a nasty exchange with guest Pat Davis

Tucker Carlson got nasty Wednesday evening with Pat Davis, a former cop and tough critic of the NRA. Things got so ugly that the Fox News host shut the interview down early.

“Interview over! Yeah because you don’t know what you’re talking about!” shrieked Carlson, before cutting off Davis, who is running for Congress as a Democrat in New Mexico’s first congressional district.

The spat began with Carlson griping over an ad Davis was running saying “f– the NRA,” but devolved into a debate about how many rounds an AR-15 could feasibly fire within 15 seconds. Davis, in another ad which Carlson played, asserted that the weapon could unload 150 bullets in 15 seconds.

“You don’t know what you’re talking about,” Carlson said to Davis. “No AR-15 can fire 150 rounds in 15 seconds! That’s untrue, and if you believe it is true, then you are not qualified to have a conversation about guns. People are laughing at you because you are ignorant. You don’t know what you’re talking about.”

Davis asserted that an AR-15 with modifications like the one used in the Las Vegas massacre last year would be capable of producing the fusillade.

“Exactly like the magazines that Las Vegas police officers pulled out of that hotel room,” said Davis. “We take exactly the word of the police officers in Las Vegas who I trust who ran into that room to save people down below and found a weapon modified with bump stocks.”
