“American Sniper” star Cory Hardrict has been cast to play Haitian Jack in the Tupac Shakur biopic, “All Eyez on Me,” TheWrap has learned.

Haitian Jack was known for his extortion tactics in the hip-hop community and was considered one of the most feared men on the streets. Shakur accused Jack of orchestrating the 1994 shooting that left the rapper shot, robbed and near death at New York’s Quad Recording Studios in his song, “Against All Odds.”

Hardrict joins the previously announced cast of Danai Gurira, Kat Graham, Grace Gibson and Demetrius Shipp Jr., who is set to play Tupac Shakur, while Jamal Woolard will reprise the role of East Coast rapper Biggie Smalls, whom he also played in the 2009 film “Notorious.”

The Morgan Creek Productions project will tell the life story of rapper 2Pac. The title of the film comes from his 1996 record of the same name. Shakur was shot multiple times on Sept. 7, 1996 in a drive-by shooting in Las Vegas and died six days later.

The movie is already filming in Atlanta, and is produced by James G. Robinson and David Robinson of Morgan Creek, as well as LT Hutton. Benny Boom is directing.

Hardrict’s film credits include “American Sniper” opposite Bradley Cooper, “Transcendence” alongside Johnny Depp, and Gran Torino.

He is represented by Paradigm and Authentic.
