Suge Knight, who was seated beside Tupac Shakur on the night he was shot in Las Vegas, says the rapper may still be alive.
While Shakur is widely believed to have died in that 1996 shooting, Knight floated another theory to Ice-T and Soledad O’Brien. He spoke in a call from the Los Angeles County Jail, where he’s awaiting trial on a murder charge.
In a clip from the special “Who Shot Biggie and Tupac?” obtained by TMZ, Knight sets out his argument for why Shakur might still be among the living.
“When Pac died … if he really did, you know?” Knight began.
“I mean, when I left that hospital, me and Pac were laughing and joking,” the former Death Row Records label boss continued. “So I don’t see how somebody can turn from doing well to doing bad.”
“So you seriously think that he might still be alive,” a skeptical O’Brien responded.
“I’m gonna tell you that with Pac, you never know,” Knight replied.
For Knight’s sake, here’s hoping he puts up a better argument during his trial.
