Oscar winner Ellen Burstyn and rising star Mackenzie Foy ("Twilight"), who just worked together on the indie movie "Wish You Well," are set to join the cast of Christopher Nolan's epic sci-fi movie "Interstellar," two individuals familiar with the project have told TheWrap.
Paramount and a representative for Nolan had no comment.
A co-production between Warner Bros. and Paramount, "Interstellar" stars Matthew McConaughey, Anne Hathaway, Jessica Chastain, Casey Affleck and Michael Caine, as well as Bill Irwin ("Rachel Getting Married") and Timothee Chalamet ("Homeland"), whose castings were first reported by TheWrap.

Story follows a heroic group of explorers who travel through a wormhole and into another dimension. Details of Burstyn and Foy's roles are being kept as secretive as the twist in Nolan's "Memento."
Jonah Nolan wrote the original script, which has since been merged with one of his brother's original sci-fi ideas. The director is also producing with Emma Thomas and Lynda Obst, while Jordan Goldberg will exec produce with Caltech physicist Kip Thorne, who serves as a technical consultant on the project.

Foy, who played Renesmee in the last two "Twilight" movies, will soon be seen in James Wan's "The Conjuring." Repped by Coast to Coast, Keyword Entertainment and attorney Derek Kroeger, she's also set to voice a role alongside Jeff Bridges in "The Little Prince."
Burstyn recently wrapped Ivan Reitman's "Draft Day" with Kevin Costner and Rachid Bouchareb's drama "Enemy Way" with Forest Whitaker. She won an Oscar for Martin Scorsese's "Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore" and was nominated five other times, most recently for Darren Aronofsky's "Requiem for a Dream." Burstyn is repped by Innovative Artists and the Schiff Co.
