Tyrese Gibson is in talks to join the cast of Sony’s “Morbius,” an individual with knowledge of the deal has confirmed to TheWrap.

The “Fast & Furious” star’s potential role is being kept under wraps. Gibson would be the fourth major star to join the film alongside Jared Leto, Matt Smith and Jared Harris. The film will star Leto as the titular vampire, who debuted in the “Spider-Man” comics as a scientist turned into a bloodthirsty villain after an ill-fated attempt to cure a blood disease. Morbius later became the antihero star of his own comic book series in the 1990s.

Daniel Espinosa will direct from a script by Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless, with Avi Arad and Matt Tolmach producing with Lucas Foster. Palek Patel will oversee the project on behalf of Sony.

Gibson is represented by APA, Isabella Castro Voltron Management, and John Tishbi of Pearlman & Tishbi, LLP. The talks were first reported by Variety.
