‘Underground’ Star Christopher Meloni on Why Show Resonates: ‘Issues of Race Are in the Air’ (Exclusive Video)

WGN America actor also touts directorial debut in interview with TheWrap

“Underground” star Christopher Meloni makes his directing debut on the WGN American show in Wednesday’s episode.

“It was everything you hoped not to happen and more,” the star joked to TheWrap’s Stuart Brazell. “No, it was great. But a lot was thrown at me. I had wonderful help from the writers and showrunners, Misha Green and Joe Pakasky and from Anthony Hemingway.”

The 10-episode second season of the Underground Railroad drama follows our heroes in a divided America on the brink of civil war, each side vying to enact their own justice, where Rosalee (Jurnee Smollett-Bell) is now working alongside Harriet Tubman (Aisha Hinds) in helping runaway slaves escape to the North.
