Univision is courting cord-cutters: The Spanish-language broadcast network has launched a new direct-to-consumer streaming service, Univision NOW.

The live offering of both Univision and UniMas comes with a price tag of $5.99 per month, or $59.99 annually. The TV alternative also includes a catalog of primetime telenovelas, reality shows, awards shows, classic soccer matches and more.

“Our loyal and passionate audience leads the market in live television viewing, and also over indexes on smartphone penetration and digital video consumption. Therefore, providing access to our broadcast networks, Univision and UniMás, on mobile devices is critical to our mission to entertain, empower and inform,” said Tonia O’Connor, president of Content Distribution and Corporate Business Development. “In addition to our robust TV Everywhere offering for pay TV subscribers, we now have a solution for our viewers who watch our networks over the air. Our goal is to serve all U.S. Hispanics.”

Primetime content will be available for 7 days after its linear premiere on the new service. Users can also rewind up to 72 hours, essentially providing 3-day DVR functionality.

Additionally, the New York, Los Angeles and Houston markets will offer live local news. That feature will expand to additional markets after the initial roll-out period.

Univision NOW is available on iOS, Android and the Web.
