History’s Season 2 finale of “Vikings” was down slightly from the Season 1 conclusion.
Thursday’s episode earned 3.4 million total viewers and 1.4 million viewers in the key 18-49 demographic. That was down from 3.6 million total viewers and 1.7 million in the demo for the Season 1 finale.

“Vikings” has already been renewed for a third season.
The show thrived on social media. Thursday’s episode was the most-tweeted cable program. This year “Vikings” is History’s most-tweeted series, up 98 percent from Season 1.
