(Spoiler alert: Please do not read on if you haven’t watched Thursday’s episode of “Lip Sync Battle.”)
On “The Walking Dead,” Lauren Cohan and Sonequa Martin-Green survive living in a post-apocalyptic world overrun by zombies — but how will they do when thrown on stage with only a mic and a backing track as weapons?
Viewers found out when the co-stars competed against each other on Thursday’s episode of “Lip Sync Battle.”
Martin-Green, who portrays gunslinger Sasha Williams on the cult AMC hit, came out guns blazing by taking on the impenetrable Whitney Houston, bouncing to “I Wanna Dance with Somebody (Who Loves Me),” which is a lot easier to lip sync to than actually sing.
Cohan (who plays sensible warrior Maggie Greene) retaliated by giving viewers some serious ’80s throwback and jamming out on stage to the classic “Sister Christian” by Night Ranger. Fans may remember the hard rock chorus, “Motorin’!” which even host LL Cool J couldn’t help singing along to.
Next up, Cohan stuck with the ’80s, but this time she donned a curly wig, leotard and leg-warmers for a high-kicking version of “Flashdance … What a Feeling,” by Irene Cara.
Meanwhile, Martin-Green went bright neon to channel her Silentó and told viewers to “Watch Me (Whip/Nae-Nae)” in an energetic performance that would definitely raise the dead.
However, just like in the battle between and human and zombie, there can be only one survivor — and that was Martin-Green for her fearless effort.
“Lip Sync Battle” airs Thursday at 10/9c on Spike.
