‘Justified’s’ Walton Goggins Joins Cast of Spielberg’s ‘Lincoln’

Goggins will play Wells A. Hutchins, an Ohio congressman who voted to abolish slavery

Walton Goggins has joined Steven Spielberg's "Lincoln," TheWrap has confirmed.

He'll play U.S. Rep. Wells A. Hutchins, the Ohio congressman who voted to abolish slavery.

Goggins, who played Detective Shane Vendrell on the FX program "The Shield" and stars as Boyd Crowder in the network's "Justified," joins Daniel Day-Lewis, David Strathairn and Sally Field.

The movie is based on Doris Kearns Goodwin's bestselling biography "Team of Rivals."

"Lincoln" begins filming this fall in Virginia. It is expected to be released through Disney's Touchstone in the fourth quarter of 2012.

Spielberg and Kathleen Kennedy are producing.
