The final trailer for “War for the Planet of the Apes” delivers on what fans expect from the franchise: an epic battle between humans and apes.
Returning director Matt Reeves (“Dawn of the Planet of the Apes”) helms the third installment of the revamped franchise, which sees Caesar (Andy Serkis) and his fellow apes forced into a deadly conflict with an army of humans, led by a ruthless Colonel (Woody Harrelson).
After the apes suffer unimaginable losses, Caesar wrestles with his darker instincts and begins his own quest to avenge his kind.
As the journey finally brings them face to face, Caesar and the Colonel are pitted against each other in a battle that will determine the fate of both their species and the future of the planet.
The trailer also features Amiah Miller as Nova, a mute human girl who bonds with some of the apes. The character appeared as an adult in the original 1968 film, in which she was played by Linda Harrison.
