A newlywed couple took their love for “Star Wars” to the next level at their wedding when instead of performing a traditional first dance in front of guests, they launched into a choreographed light saber battle.
According to Mashable, the couple — Jessica and Allen Bricker of Hoagland, Indiana — was bummed over not being able to celebrate their wedding on May 4, otherwise known as “Star Wars” day to fans of the franchise, so they did the next best thing.
“We wanted to get married on May 4, but Jessica’s mother wasn’t having a Thursday wedding, so May 6 was the best we could do,” Allen told the site.
The timing issue led the pair to block out an entire light saber battle, which they kept secret from friends and family until the main event.
Of course the entire thing was captured on camera by overjoyed attendees, who laughed and clapped as the newlyweds battled it out on the dance floor.
In a first for the “Star Wars” universe, the two antagonists kiss and make up at the end.
