The power was out and the streets were closed near the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles after a water main break was reported to the Beverly Hills Fire Department around 9:15 p.m. PT on Tuesday.

Southern California Edison, an electricity supply company, comfirmed to KTLA-5 that the Hilton and three other locations experienced power outages at the same time, caused by water flowing into a nearby electrical vault.

Santa Monica Blvd. was temporarily closed westbound at Wilshire Blvd. while crews continued to work to contain the water main break. Per KTLA, power appeared to be restored by 2:30 a.m.

The Beverly Hilton is where many of the entertainment industry’s biggest events occur, including the Golden Globe Awards, Grammy parties and the Critics’ Choice Television Awards. The hotel is also where Whitney Houston was found dead in 2012.
