Weinstein Company, Fandango Offering SAG Awards Voters Free Tickets

Voters can see awards contenders on the big screen

The Weinstein Company is partnering with Fandango to give SAG-AFTRA voters free tickets to any of the studio’s film that earn Screen Actors Guild Award nominations.

In a release announcing the partnership, TWC said that the free tickets ensures that voters will see awards contenders like “August: Osage County” and “Mandela” on the big screen instead of relying on screeners. Other TWC films that could factor into the SAG awards include “Philomena,” “Fruitvale Station” and “Lee Daniels’ The Butler.”

The offer will be made available to more than 100,000 SAG-AFTRA voters shortly after nominations are announced on December 11, 2013.

“We’re thrilled to be working alongside Fandango on this unprecedented offer to SAG-AFTRA members,” TWC President of Marketing Stephen Bruno said in a statement. “This is an incredible opportunity to give them the best possible chance to see our nominated pictures on the big screen, whose individual and ensemble performances we’re so proud of.”
