Whoopi Goldberg Rips Into 2016 Candidates: ‘If You Can’t Handle Us, You Can’t Handle the Country’ (Video)

Whoopi Goldberg has a message for the 2016 presidential contenders — get on the program and explain yourselves already! “The View” moderator waded into the political waters Wednesday and demanded some answers, urging the candidates to stop by the ABC daytime talker.

“All of y’all have an open invitation,” Goldberg said to the potential presidents, “because honestly, if you can’t handle us, you can’t handle the country, honey.”

“There’s gay folks, straight folks, mothers, grandmothers, great-grandmothers — all kinds of folks,” she continued. “We don’t need to necessarily agree with all of your politics — but you need to explain to us, because we have questions for both sides.”

The ladies were talking mostly about Marco Rubio, though they kicked the segment off by discussing the newly re-energized Jeb Bush. Goldberg wants to understand what she sees as Rubio’s lack of empathy for immigrants, despite being the son of Cuban immigrants himself.

“So come on, we’re not fooling around here,” Goldberg dared.

Then the ladies went in a completely different direction and began to debate if school uniforms help preserve a young woman’s virginity.
