The Wrap has partnered with Canvs, the emotion measurement AI company, for a weekly look at some of the characters and personalities that have TV viewers the most worked up on social media. The data below covers June 27 through July 3 and is drawn from the most emotionally reacted-to television programs, including broadcast, cable, streaming and PPV.

The 2018 FIFA World Cup match between Mexico and Brazil (broadcast on Fox and Telemundo) was a huge conversation-driver during the period measured, racking up over 103,600 Emotional Reactions (ERs). And no one got viewers talking more than Brazilian forward Neymar, who is known for playing up injuries and being dramatic in general on the field. In addition to offering the requisite congratulatory messages for his goal (Brazil won 2-0), people rolled their eyes and called him a crybaby on more than one occasion.

The Season 10 finale of VH1’s “RuPaul’s Drag Race” garnered 34,996 ERs, with drag queen and ultimate champion Aquaria driving the most emotional conversation. Viewers virtually gathered to cheer her on and comment on her outfits and lip syncing skills. A climactic, three-way battle royale between Aquaria, Eureka and Kameron Michaels put audiences on the edge of their seats; when the dust settled and Aquaria emerged victorious, many fans were simply thrilled.

The Season 5 premiere of “Power” on Starz generated 12,223 ERs with Tariq St. Patrick (portrayed by Michael Rainey Jr.) sparking the majority of the emotional conversation. A sizeable amount of chatter was negative — people shared how they think Tariq is annoying, with more than a few bluntly saying they hate him. One moment in particular got on viewers’ nerves: when Tariq ducked out of his sister’s funeral to text a warning message to Dre, his father’s rival and enemy.
