Woody Harrelson will star opposite Mary Elizabeth Winstead in “Kate,” a thriller about an assassin set-up at Netflix, the company announced Thursday.

“Kate” tells the story of a ruthless criminal operative who, after she’s irreversibly poisoned, has less than 24 hours to exact revenge on her enemies. In the process, she forms an unexpected bond with the daughter of one of her past victims.

No details about Harrelson’s role have been released yet.

Cedric Nicolas-Troyan (“The Huntsman: Winter’s War”) is directing the film from a script by Umair Aleem. Bryan Unkeless, Kelly McCormick and Patrick Newall are producing, and “Deadpool 2” director David Lietch is executive producing along with Scott Morgan.

Jonathan Eusebio, who has worked on the “John Wick” films as well as “Black Panther” and the upcoming “Birds of Prey,” is the film’s stunt coordinator and second unit director. The crew also includes Oscar winner Damian Martin as special effects make-up designer, Taylor Rockwell as visual effects producer, Dominic Watkins and production designer and Lyle Vincent as cinematographer.

Harrelson most recently starred in Netflix’s “The Highwaymen,” and he’ll next be seen in “Zombieland: Double Tap” and “Midway.” He’s repped by CAA.

Winstead, who was previously announced to star, will next be seen in “Birds of Prey” and “Gemini Man.” She’s represented by WME.
