TBS has renewed the freshman comedy “Wrecked” and the sophomore hit “Angie Tribeca” for new seasons, TheWrap has learned.
“Wrecked” is currently reaching an audience of 5.2 million viewers across linear, VOD, digital and mobile platforms. It ranks among cable’s top 25 scripted series for the year to date and is the No. 1 new cable comedy in live-plus-seven ratings in the advertiser-coveted adults 18-49 demographic.
The series centers on a group of plane crash survivors struggling to stay alive on a remote island. The cast for the first season includes Asif Ali, Zach Cregger, Rhys Darby, Brooke Dillman, Ginger Gonzaga, Will Greenberg, Jessica Lowe, Ally Maki and Brian Sacca. The first season is executive-produced by Justin and Jordan Shipley, along with Jesse Hara and Moses Port. The second 10-episode season will premiere in 2017.
Season 2 of screwball cop comedy “Angie Tribeca” is reaching 2.6 million viewers across TBS platforms. It stars Rashida Jones, Hayes MacArthur, Jere Burns, Deon Cole, Andrée Vermeulen and Jagger.
It is the brainchild of executive producers Nancy and Steve Carell, with Ira Ungerleider serving as executive producer and showrunner. The 10-episode third season is slated to launch in early 2017.
In addition, TNT has renewed its new drama “Animal Kingdom.” The show is reaching 6.7 million viewers across all TNT. It is attracting an audience that is evenly gender balanced and has the youngest profile of any current TNT drama.
Based on the Australian film of the same name, the series stars Emmy and Tony winner Ellen Barkin, Scott Speedman, Shawn Hatosy, Ben Robson, Jake Weary, Finn Cole, Daniella Alonso and Molly Gordon.
The series is produced by John Wells Productions in association with Warner Horizon Television, with Emmy winner John Wells and Jonathan Lisco serving as executive producers of the series, along with Etan Frankel and Christopher Chulack.
