Zac Efron, Amber Heard to Race Cars on the ‘Autobahn’

Efron and Heard will shoot the Eran Creevy thriller this fall in Germany

Zac Efron and Amber Heard will star in “Autobahn,” a thriller about an American backpacker (Efron) whose life takes a turn for the worse after joining a scam on behalf of a Turkish gang, IM Global announced on Thursday.

IM Global is financing the film, which will shoot in Germany in the fall. Eran Creevy, who wrote and directed “Welcome to the Punch,” is directing from a script he co-wrote with F. Scott Frazier.

Heard will play Efron's American girlfriend. As he flees his pursuers in and around Munich, he must protect her as they seek to free themselves from any perilous entanglements.

Efron, represented by CAA, manager Jason Barrett and attorney Patti Felker is currently shooting Universal’s “Townies,” which also star Seth Rogen and Rose Byrne. He will next be seen in the JFK drama “Parkland” and the romantic comedy “Are We Officially Dating?”

Heard, represented by WME, manager Geyer Kosinski and attorney Karl Austen, can next be seen in Robert Rodriguez‘ “Machete Kills” and the thriller “Paranoia,” co-starring Liam Hemsworth and Harrison Ford.

Those representatives made the deal for this film with Stuart Ford, CEO of IM Global. “Autobahn” will be produced by Ben Pugh, Rory Aitken and Brian Kavanaugh-Jones.
