Zachary Quinto’s Production Arm to Tackle ‘The Banshee Chapter’

Before the Door Pictures is partnering with Sunchaser Entertainment and German producer Christian Arnold-Beutel on the horror film, which is Blair Erickson’s feature directorial debut

Before the Door Pictures, Zachary Quinto's production company, has received financing to make the horror movie "The Banshee Chapter," the company said Tuesday.

The German producer Christian Arnold-Beutel and Sunchaser Entertainment are partnering with Before the Door on the project.

Blair Erickson wrote "Banshee," which marks his feature directorial debut.

The movie centers on a young, female journalist who follows the mysterious trail of a missing friend who had been experimenting with mind-altering chemicals developed in secret government drug tests. According to Before the Door, the project is based on real documents, actual test subject testimony and uncovered secrets about programs run by the CIA.

Indeed, the CIA's Project MKULTRA tested LSD on American citizens.

Sunchaser's Stephanie Riggs and Before the Door's Corey Moosa will produce. Quinto will executive produce with Arnold-Beutel, Neal Dodson and Sean Akers.

The project is set to begin shooting in New Mexico this month, so casting announcements are expected any time.

Erickson is creative director of the interactive marketing agency "Millions of Us," where, acording to Behind the Door, he "created breakthrough interactive stories, transmedia experiences and live action stories in virtual worlds, short films and online communities."

His work includes an online thriller for the "Terminator" franchise, several 3D projects for Sony's PlayStation Home, among others.
