Steve Coogan Helps Judi Dench Find Her Long-Lost Son in ‘Philomena’ Trailer (Video)

Stephen Frears directed the drama written by Coogan and Jeff Pope, based on Martin Sixsmith's book "The Lost Child of Philomena Lee" 

Steve Coogan is taking Judi Dench across the sea to search for her long-lost son in the first trailer for the upcoming drama, "Philomena."

Based on "The Lost Child of Philomena Lee,"  a 2009 investigative book by BBC correspondent Martin Sixsmith, the film follows an out-of-work journalist who decides to accompany an elderly woman to America to find the son that was given up for adoption against her will when she gave birth to him out of wedlock in an Irish-Catholic community.

Coogan plays Sixsmith, while Dench portrays the titular mother in the latest film from "The Queen" director, Stephen Frears.

The film opens in the U.K. on Nov. 1, but U.S. distributor the Weinstein Co. has yet to set a domestic release date.
