James McAvoy Heads to ‘Welcome to the Punch’

Scottish actor told Piers Morgan that he’s set to begin work on the thriller, which starts shooting in London in July

Scottish actor James McAvoy is heading back to Britain to film the indie thriller "Welcome to the Punch," TheWrap has confirmed.

The star of "Atonement" and "Last King of Scotland," as well as upcoming films "X-Men: First Class" and "The Conspiritor," leaked the news to Piers Morgan during a Monday-night appearance on his CNN talk show.

Described as a dark thriller, "Welcome to the Punch" will begin shooting in London in July.

Eran Creevy is writing and directing "Welcome to the Punch." Rory Aitken and Ben Pugh are producing and Brian Kavanaugh-Jones is executive producing.

McAvoy was on the CNN talk show with the cast of his upcoming "The Conspirator," Robert Redford's new movie about the lone woman charged in the assassination of Abraham Lincoln.

McAvoy is repped by UTA and, in the UK, United Agents.
