‘GMA’ Wants to Warm Your Heart With Campaign Set to Ray Charles Classic (Exclusive First Look)

ABC’s new promo launches #WeAreGMA campaign

ABC’s “Good Morning America” will debut a new promotional campaign on Tuesday that features the show’s talent set to the Ray Charles classic, “Oh, What A Beautiful Morning.” It marks the launch of the show’s new campaign titled “#WeAreGMA.”

Robin Roberts, George Stephanopoulos, Michael Strahan, Amy Robach, Lara Spencer and Ginger Zee are all prominently featured in the feel-good ad, which is expected to be the first in a series of spots promoting the #WeAreGMA hashtag.

The slickly produced campaign starts off with black and white footage of the anchors greeting each other while emerging from an elevator to the “GMA” set before turning to color with the message “put some good in your morning” appearing on screen.

The anchors continue to smile and playfully laugh while another message, “We’re here for you,” appears on the screen before the new slogan of ABC’s flagship morning program, “#WeAreGMA,” flashes as Stephanopoulos can be heard introducing the show.

“GMA” beat rivals “Today” and “CBS This Morning” among total viewers the week of Jan. 23, averaging 4.73 million viewers compared to 4.45 for NBC’s “Today.” CBS’ morning show finished third, averaging 3.83 million viewers.

“GMA” picked up the Favorite Daytime Hosting team honor at the recent “People’s Choice Awards.”

“GMA” also topped the list of Google’s 2016 Year in Search Top Trending TV News Shows, which showcases the people, topics, events and news that captured the world’s attention this year. Google’s Year in Search uses data from multiple sources, including Google Trends, and explores trending topics from more than 70 countries.
