Alanis Morissette, James Corden Update ‘Ironic’ Lyrics to Include Apple, Tinder (Video)

The original song was released in 1995, so the hit needed some sprucing up with references to modern technology

Alanis Morissette took her 1995 hit song “Ironic” and updated it with references to modern technology and popular social media platforms.

The new version, sung with “The Late Late Show” host James Corden on Monday night, included Uber, Snapchat, Apple and even Tinder.

“It’s like swiping left on your future soulmate, it’s a Snapchat that you wish you had saved, it’s a funny tweet that nobody faves, and who would’ve thought, it figures?” The duo sang.

Corden also echoed something most people fear when buying a new Apple gadget: “It’s like they announce a new iPhone the day after you buy it.”

Morissette took the opportunity to point to the fact that there are “10,000 male late night hosts when all you want is just one woman, seriously.”

“Ironic” was one of the hits on the singer’s 1995 album “Jagged Little Pill.” The Collector’s Edition version of the record was released last month.
