AMC Releases First Footage From Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg’s ‘Preacher’ Ahead of Trailer Debut (Video)

First full trailer premieres this Sunday during “The Walking Dead”

AMC released the first footage from Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg‘s new series “Preacher” on Friday.

The 12-second teaser, which is itself a preview of the first trailer debuting on the network during Sunday’s “The Walking Dead,” suggests it will offer plenty of blood and violence.

The new show starring Dominic Cooper is based on the graphic novel series by Garth Ennis and drawn by Steve Dillon. It follows Jesse Custer (Cooper), a conflicted preacher in a small Texas town who merges with a creature that has escaped from heaven and develops the ability to make anyone do anything he says.

Along with his ex-girlfriend, Tulip (Ruth Negga), and an Irish vampire named Cassidy (Joseph Gilgun), the three embark on a journey to literally find God.

Rogen and Goldberg are serving as executive producers on the show, which hails from AMC Studios and Sony Pictures Television. Executive producer Sam Catlin (“Breaking Bad”) is serving as showrunner, and wrote the pilot episode.
