America Ferrera on the RNC: ‘Lies, Lies, Lies, Lies’ (Video)

“Immigrants, undocumented or documented, are less likely to commit crimes,” Ferrera tells Bill Maher

America Ferrera joined Bill Maher to discuss her long time support of Hillary Clinton, and the actress was not shy about making her thoughts on the Republican National Convention known.

“How much time do we have?” joked Ferrera when the “Real Time with Bill Maher” host asked if she wanted to offer a rebuttal to the comments made at the RNC.

“It makes me sick to think about the lies, the lies, lies, lies, lies,” the actress said. “He’s just wrong,” Ferrera said, referencing Republican presidential candidate, Donald Trump.

Ferrera let viewers know that immigration is a topic that she feels especially passionate about and that Trump’s comments on the issue couldn’t be further from the truth.

When Maher asked her what she had to say to the Bernie or Bust people, who refuse to give their vote to anyone other than Bernie Sanders, the actress made it clear that could not be an option.

“I think that it’s reckless,” said Ferrera. “One of these two people is going to be the next president of the United States, most likely, and to sit around and not make a choice is to make a choice.”

Her call to get people out and voting launched into a heated debate over voter turnout in minority communities.
