Amy Schumer has denied stealing jokes for her recent HBO special, “Amy Schumer: Live at the Apollo.”

When approached by a TMZ crew outside an airport Tuesday and asked about recent accusations that she lifted material from late comedian Patrice O’Neal, Schumer insisted, “I would never take anyone’s joke.”

The jokes in question were part of the closing segment of her special, in which Schumer ticks down a series of imagined sex moves, like the Abraham Lincoln and the Houdini. (See video below.)

When asked specifically about the O’Neal comparison, Schumer said, “The thing you’re talking about is — Patrice is my really good friend… I never saw him do those jokes. The thought that I would maybe see those jokes and then go, ‘Ooh, I like those, I’m going to close my HBO special with them’ is crazy.”

Schumer and O’Neal go way back. The two appeared on stage together in 2011, during the “Comedy Central Roast of Charlie Sheen.”

The HBO special was filmed at New York’s famed Apollo Theater and directed by Chris Rock. It is currently re-airing on the premium cable network.
