Ansel Elgort may have to resort to desperate measures to win an MTV Movie Award.
In a new promo for the awards show, Elgort calls host Amy Schumer to see if she can exert her influence to make sure he wins.
Schumer is happy to comply, her only condition being that Elgort thank her in his acceptance speech. And as luck would have it, Schumer has already it written for him.
Elgort reads through the speech, but gets hung up on the part where he is supposed to say “My craft is merely a way to honor
Elgort’s misgivings quickly turn to disgust when he learns he is supposed to say Schumer “is an angel and I love sex with her.”
Elgort loses his sense of humor, however, when Schumer’s speech concludes, in a reference to Elgort’s role in the teen drama “The Fault in Our Stars,” by saying that he and Schumer’s “love story is so beautiful I’m pretty sure one of us has to die.”
The MTV Movie Awards air Sunday, April 12, at 8pm/7c.
