Andy Samberg, Kelsey Grammer to Voice Animated ‘Storks’ for WB

Phil Lord and Christopher Miller will executive produce the film, which will be co-directed by Nick Stoller

Andy Samberg and Kelsey Grammer are set to lend their voices to “Storks,” an original animated adventure from the Warner Animation Group. The film will arrive in theaters on Sept. 23, 2016 courtesy of Warner Bros. Pictures, the studio announced Monday.

Nicholas Stoller (“Neighbors”) and Doug Sweetland (Oscar-nominated short “Presto”) are co-directing the feature from an original script by Stoller.

Stoller is also producing the film with Brad Lewis. Phil Lord, Christopher Miller, John Requa, Glenn Ficarra and Jared Stern will serve as executive producers.

With a totally original story developed under the umbrella of the Warner Animation Group, the film will deliver a fresh and funny look at the fable behind storks. Additional voice cast will be announced soon.

Monday’s announcement was made by Warner Bros. executives Dan Fellman, president of domestic distribution, and Veronika Kwan Vandenberg, president of international distribution.

“We are thrilled to be broadening our animation slate with the new adventure ‘Storks,’” said Fellman.
“‘Storks’ is an innovative idea that is sure to delight kids and families all over the world,” said Kwan Vandenberg.

“This is an exciting project that demonstrates the boundless creativity and imagination of the Warner Animation Group and our dear friend and frequent collaborator, Nick Stoller,” added Greg Silverman, WB’s president of creative development and worldwide production.

Warner Bros. just announced new release dates for three LEGO-branded animated tentpoles. An untitled LEGO Batman movie will arrive on Feb. 10, 2017; “Ninjago” has been pushed from fall 2016 to Sept. 22, 2017; and “The LEGO Movie Sequel” will open on May 18, 2018.
