Ariana Grande proved on Tuesday’s “Tonight Show” that not only can she sing — she can pull off killer impersonations as well.
The 22-year-old pop star perfectly mimicked fellow singers as she went head-to-head with Jimmy Fallon in a game of “Wheel of Musical Impressions” on the NBC late-night show.
Grande kicked it off with a dramatic Britney Spears-style version of “Mary Had a Little Lamb,” before Fallon tackled Aaron Neville doing “Cheerleader.”
However, it was Grande’s Christina Aguilera-inspired rendition of “The Wheels on the Bus” that earned her a standing ovation from the host — and was more reminiscent of a Grammy-winning performance by Whitney Houston than a children’s song.
“That is unbelievable … wow, I want that recording,” Fallon said in a shocked response.
Her follow-up song — “Can’t Feel My Face” as rendered by Celine Dion — was just as good, while Fallon attempted to do a duet as Sting.
The campaign for “The Wheels on the Bus” to be released on iTunes has already begun.
