Aziz Ansari Mocks CBS for ‘All-Time High’ Diversity on Stephen Colbert’s ‘Late Show’ (Video)

“Stephen is the first late-night host from South Carolina, and the bajillionth white guy,” comedian says same week he publicly rips Hollywood’s diversity problem

Aziz Ansari ripped Hollywood’s diversity problem in a recent essay about his experience as an Indian actor, and he also mocked CBS over the same issue while appearing on the network’s flagship late-night show.

The Netflix star brought up the “very interesting measure of progress” when Stephen Colbert noted they were both from the same state.

“Stephen is the first late-night host from South Carolina, and the bajillionth white guy,” Ansari said to his host, who asked if having the comedian on his show “counted at all” toward having more minorities on TV.

“Yeah, it’s really diverse right now. It’s 50 percent diverse,” Ansari joked. “This is an all-time high for CBS.”
