Fox News Channel finished No. 1 among all cable networks in both total day and primetime viewers for the week of Nov. 14-20, marking the 14th straight week that it was the most-watched network.
Fox News averaged 3.09 million viewers from 8-11 p.m., edging ESPN’s 3.02 million viewers despite a big week of NFL coverage. Hallmark, USA and TBS join FNC and ESPN among the top five primetime networks.
Fox News (1.8 million) and ESPN (1.2 million) also finished atop total day viewers, with Nickelodeon, Hallmark and Adult Swim rounding out the top five. The victory is the 20th time out of the past 21 weeks that Fox News finished No. 1 for a specific week.
The first week of “Tucker Carlson Tonight” was the third highest-rated week of the year for Fox News during the 7 p.m. timeslot, behind only election week and Republican National Convention coverage.
On Friday night, Fox News aired a special hosted by TMZ’s Harvey Levin, “OBJECTified” averaged over 4 million in total viewers, beating cable news rivals CNN and MSNBC combined in the 10 p.m. timeslot. The behind-the-scenes look at Donald Trump was the most-watched program of the year for Fox News on a Friday night.
“Fox News Sunday” with Chris Wallace had its most-watched episode in 10 years when Vice President-elect Mike Pence joined the program to discuss the developments surrounding his visit to the “Hamilton” Broadway play. The program picked up nearly 5.8 million total viewers and 1.3 million demo viewers during repeats on cable.
“Hannity” had a huge day on Nov. 17, averaging 761,000 to beat all cable news competition in the demo and help the network’s overall weekly numbers.
CNN finished No. 11 in total viewers and No. 13 in primetime, while MSNBC finished No. 14 in total day and No. 10 in primetime.
