CBS Films Nabs No. 1 Best-Seller ‘The Husband’s Secret’ (Exclusive)

Liane Moriarty’s novel has already become a No. 1 New York Times bestseller since it was published in July

CBS Films has preemptively secured exclusive rights to Liane Moriarty’s novel “The Husband’s Secret,” which has already become a No. 1 New York Times bestseller since it was published in July by Amy Einhorn Books.

Story follows three different women whose lives are plunged into crises after one opens a Pandora’s Box that ties all of them together.

“This is a book that is being read and passed on to friends by women of all ages,” said Terry Press, co-president of CBS Films. “The characters and story have evoked strong critical and reader reactions and we are thrilled to translate that to the big screen.”

CBS Films creative executive Winnie Kemp will oversee the project for the studio.

Moriarty is the Australian author of five international bestsellers, including “Three Wishes,” “The Last Anniversary,” “What Alice Forgot” and “The Hypnotist’s Love Story.” She is also the author of a popular children’s book series.

Upcoming releases from CBS Films include the Coen brothers’ folk music tale “Inside Llewyn Davis” and the comedy “Last Vegas,” which stars Michael Douglas and Robert De Niro.

Moriarty is represented by Jerry Kalajian of Intellectual Property Group and Fiona Inglis of Curtis Brown Australia.
