CBS will broadcast the 2016 Tony Awards ceremony live, the network announced Monday.

Nominations for the annual theater awards will be announced on April 29, with the awards ceremony airing on June 5, 2016.

The Tony Awards, which honor theater professionals for distinguished achievement on Broadway, has been broadcast on CBS since 1978.

Next year marks the 70th anniversary of the Tony Awards, which were first held on April 6, 1947 at the Waldorf Astoria’s Grand Ballroom. The ceremony is presented by Tony Award Productions, which is a joint venture of the Broadway League and the American Theatre Wing, which founded the Tonys.

Ricky Kirshner and Glenn Weiss of White Cherry Entertainment will return as executive producers. Weiss will also serve as director for the 17th consecutive year.

At the 2015 ceremony, musical “Fun Home” and “The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night Time” both took five statuettes, while Helen Mirren took home her first Tony as Best Actress in a Play for her portrayal of Queen Elizabeth II in “The Audience.”

The 2015 ceremony also marked a new low for the awards show in ratings. The Tony Awards got a 0.9 rating/3 share in the advertiser coveted adults 18-49 demographic and 6.4 million viewers, down 25 percent from the previous year.
