CEO Lauren Lexton Renews Contract With Authentic Entertainment

Co-CEO Tom Rogan will also leave company after 15 years

Lauren Lexton, co-founder of Authentic Entertainment, has renewed her contract to remain as CEO of the Emmy Award-winning unscripted and documentary production company, parent Endemol Shine North America announced Thursday.

In addition, Tom Rogan, who co-founded Authentic Entertainment with Lexton and has served as its Co-CEO, is set to leave the company after a 15-year run.

Authentic Entertainment has produced many successful unscripted shows, including “Ace of Cakes,” “Flipping Out,” “Toddlers & Tiaras,” “Here Comes Honey Boo Boo,” and “Best Thing I Ever Ate.” In August 2010, Authentic was acquired by Endemol USA, now Endemol Shine North America.

“For 15 years, Tom Rogan has been my trusted partner and collaborator,” Lexton said. “We have been trailblazers in the industry and will continue that with new programming and new ideas for the changing television landscape. The team we built together will remain, which is in keeping with the Authentic spirit of rewarding success and promoting from within.”

Prior to co-founding Authentic, Lexton worked as a showrunner, director, writer and producer on numerous specials and series for both network and cable. Lexton graduated cum laude from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts. She serves on the board of the International Documentary Association, and is a member of the Directors Guild of America. Her contract renegotiation was handled by Bob Lange of Kleinberg Lange.

In addition to shows currently on air, Authentic Entertainment is in production on six series and specials premiering later this year including Duff Goldman’s “Cakemasters” for Food Network, “Knife Fight” for Esquire and series for FYI, History Channel and Discovery. Authentic’s “Flipping Out” ends its eighth season later this month on Bravo.
