Charles Barkley Rips CNN for ‘Selling Soul’ and Becoming ‘Like Fox News’ (Video)

“It’s been sad and frustrating that our company has sold their soul for ratings,” TNT NBA analyst says about CNN’s presidential campaign coverage

NBA legend Charles Barkley didn’t mince words about CNN’s presidential campaign coverage on Thursday, concluding the network has sold its soul for ratings.

Barkley, an NBA analyst on TNT, a sister network to CNN, commented on the presidential election during a TNT segment.

He then veered off into media criticism, taking on CNN’s “awful” 2016 coverage, filled with butt kissing and ratings chasing.

“They’ve become like Fox News for the Republicans,” Barkley said. “They follow every single sound bite just to get ratings for these debates.”

He went on to say how it’s been “sad and frustrating that our company has sold their soul for ratings.”

Barkley said he’d been backing Ohio Governor John Kasich for president, but since he’s not gaining any traction, he currently isn’t supporting any candidate.

CNN didn’t immediately respond to TheWrap’s request for comment regarding Barkley’s criticism.
